The best hair extension type depends on your hair type, lifestyle, and goals:

  • Medium Hair: Tape-ins, microlinks, or clip-ins
  • Thick Hair: I-tips, hand-tied wefts, or sew-ins
  • Temporary Wear: Clip-ins or fish line extensions
  • Semi-Permanent: Tape-ins (6-8 weeks)
  • Long-Term: Nano rings or I-tips (3-4 months)

Not sure? Take our quiz to find your perfect match!

How long do hair extensions last?

The lifespan varies by extension type and care:

  • Clip-In Extensions: 6-12 months with proper care
  • Tape-In Extensions: 6-12 months (tape replaced every 6-8 weeks)
  • Nano/Micro Rings: 6-12 months (moved up every 6-8 weeks)
  • I-Tip Extensions: 6-12 months (moved up every 8-12 weeks)
  • Fish Line Extensions: 6-12 months

With proper care including gentle washing, regular brushing, and avoiding excessive heat, your extensions can last even longer!

Can I style my hair extensions with heat tools?

Yes! Our 100% human hair extensions can be styled with heat tools just like your natural hair.

Important tips:

  • Always use a heat protectant spray before styling
  • Keep heat tools on medium settings (300-350°F)
  • Avoid applying heat directly to attachment points
  • Let extensions cool completely before brushing
  • For synthetic extensions, check the heat resistance rating (usually up to 320°F)

You can curl, straighten, and style your extensions to match your natural hair perfectly!

How do I wash my hair extensions?

For Semi-Permanent Extensions (tape-ins, nano rings, I-tips):

  1. Brush hair gently before washing to remove tangles
  2. Wet hair in a downward motion (don't flip upside down)
  3. Apply sulfate-free shampoo to roots and scalp
  4. Rinse thoroughly in a downward motion
  5. Apply conditioner from mid-length to ends (avoid attachment points)
  6. Rinse with cool water
  7. Gently squeeze out excess water (don't rub)
  8. Let air dry or blow dry on low heat

For Removable Extensions (clip-ins, fish line):

  1. Remove extensions from your hair
  2. Fill a basin with lukewarm water and sulfate-free shampoo
  3. Gently swish extensions in water
  4. Rinse thoroughly
  5. Apply conditioner and let sit for 5-10 minutes
  6. Rinse with cool water
  7. Lay flat on a towel to air dry

Wash frequency: 1-2 times per week for semi-permanent, after every 15-20 wears for clip-ins.

Will hair extensions damage my natural hair?

When applied and maintained correctly, hair extensions should NOT damage your natural hair.

To prevent damage:

  • Choose the right method for your hair type (lightweight options for fine hair)
  • Have extensions applied by a professional or follow instructions carefully
  • Don't wear extensions that are too heavy for your natural hair
  • Get regular maintenance appointments to prevent matting
  • Remove extensions properly - never pull or tug
  • Give your hair breaks between applications if needed
  • Keep your natural hair and scalp healthy with proper care

Methods like clip-ins, fish line, and nano rings are particularly gentle and damage-free when used correctly.

How do I choose the right color?

For the most natural look:

  • Match Your Base: Choose extensions that match your natural hair color at the roots
  • Consider Highlights: If you have highlights, choose a shade slightly lighter than your base for dimension
  • Lighting Matters: Check color in natural daylight, not just indoor lighting
  • When in Doubt: Go slightly lighter - you can always darken extensions, but lightening is harder

Popular colors:

  • #1B Natural Black: Deep black for dark hair
  • #27 Dark Blonde: Warm honey blonde
  • #60 Platinum Blonde: Ice white blonde
  • #613 Bleach Blonde: Light blonde base

Can I color or bleach my hair extensions?

Yes, but with caution! Our 100% human hair extensions can be colored or bleached.

Important guidelines:

  • Darkening is safer than lightening - you can always go darker with less risk
  • Bleaching: Only recommended for darker extensions going lighter. Use a professional or proceed carefully
  • Toning: Blonde extensions can be toned to adjust the shade
  • Patch Test: Always test on a small section first
  • Professional Recommended: For major color changes, consult a professional colorist
  • Deep Condition: After coloring, use a deep conditioning treatment

Note: Synthetic extensions cannot be colored or bleached.

How many bundles or packs do I need?

The amount needed depends on your desired look and hair thickness:

For Clip-In Extensions:

  • Fine Hair: 1-2 packs (100-150g)
  • Medium Hair: 2-3 packs (150-200g)
  • Thick Hair: 3-4 packs (200-250g)

For Bundles (Sew-Ins, Tape-Ins):

  • Partial Install: 2-3 bundles
  • Full Head: 3-4 bundles
  • Very Full/Long: 4-5 bundles
  • Add a closure or frontal: For a complete look

For Individual Extensions (Nano Rings, I-Tips):

  • Fine Hair: 100-150 strands
  • Medium Hair: 150-200 strands
  • Thick Hair: 200-250 strands

Can I swim or workout with hair extensions?

Yes, but with precautions!

Swimming:

  • Wet your hair with clean water before entering pool/ocean (prevents absorption of chlorine/salt)
  • Wear a swim cap for best protection
  • Braid or tie hair in a low ponytail
  • Rinse immediately after swimming
  • Use a clarifying shampoo to remove chlorine/salt
  • Deep condition after swimming

Working Out:

  • Tie hair in a low ponytail or braid
  • Avoid high, tight ponytails that stress attachment points
  • Rinse or wash after sweaty workouts
  • Semi-permanent extensions (tape-ins, nano rings) are more secure for active lifestyles
  • Clip-ins should be removed before intense workouts

With proper care, you can maintain an active lifestyle with extensions!

What's the difference between human hair and synthetic extensions?

Human Hair Extensions:

  • ✅ Can be styled with heat tools
  • ✅ Can be colored and bleached
  • ✅ Most natural look and movement
  • ✅ Last longer (6-12 months)
  • ✅ Blend seamlessly with natural hair
  • ❌ Higher price point
  • ❌ Require more maintenance

Synthetic Extensions:

  • ✅ More affordable
  • ✅ Low maintenance
  • ✅ Hold style well
  • ✅ Great for trying extensions first time
  • ❌ Limited heat styling (usually up to 320°F)
  • ❌ Cannot be colored
  • ❌ May look less natural
  • ❌ Shorter lifespan (3-6 months)

Our Recommendation: Human hair for everyday wear and natural results, synthetic for occasional use or budget-friendly options.

  2. Clip the top section up and out of the way
  3. Position the fish line wire along your parting
  4. Loop each end of the wire around small sections of hair near your ears
  5. Secure with a simple knot (like tying a shoelace)
  6. Release your top section to cover the wire
  7. Blend and style as desired
